Our Story

About

Serere Ventures emerged from a concept nurtured through countless discussions with ecosystem players throughout the continent, all focused on addressing the challenges of 'investor talent pipelines' and 'infrastructure deficiencies' in Africa.

Mission

To catalyze transformative change within the African tech ecosystem by empowering visionary founders with strategic investments, operational expertise, and unwavering support. Through our collaborative syndicate of angel investors, venture capitalists, and seasoned operators, we are committed to fostering innovation, driving sustainable growth, and advancing prosperity across the continent

Vision

To be the premier catalyst for African entrepreneurship, recognized globally for our unwavering commitment to empowering tomorrow's innovators. We envision a future where African startups lead the forefront of technological innovation, addressing pressing challenges and shaping a more equitable and prosperous world. With our strategic investments, operational guidance, and expansive network, we strive to ignite a revolution of opportunity, creativity, and impact across the African continent and beyond.

Having worked across multiple continents including areas with widespread support networks in place for aspiring investors like the US & Europe, the founding team of Serere Ventures sought to create the same for Africa. Serere Ventures aims to break down the traditional access barriers into venture capital and specifically unlock the untapped potential of investing 'on the ground' on the continent. In Africa, being an investor is so much more than just distributing capital - one must embrace the hard reality.

Being an investor in Africa means being in the trenches with entrepreneurs building solutions for hard problems, providing hands-on support, and facing local barriers. Aside from this, many cultural nuances to investing across Africa create a steep learning curve for those unfamiliar with these challenges. Thus, Serere Ventures was created to bridge that gap.
